Longer Version

What if you’d read just about every fantasy book written and you wanted something more?  What if you were looking for a tale with the epic sweep of a Robert Jordan novel, the rich engaging characters of a George R.R. Martin story and the action of a Lustbader romp?  What if you wanted some of the humor of a Terry Pratchett novel with a touch of Lovecraftian horror?  What if you wanted them all in one great big, rollicking tale?  Well hey, that’s what I wanted; it’s what I wrote, and it’s what I’m putting out every day 2-4 pages at a time.

The Wintershall Tales is a four-novel fantasy epic focused around Fortitude Ulfsson, a promising young corporal in the Duke’s militia.  He develops a plan that achieves a rare victory over the sea raiders that terrorize the coast and is rewarded by being promoted sergeant of a new reserve company being formed in the isolated northern city of Wintershall in the Barony of Wintershall.  His promising new career takes a worrying turn, however, when an invading army sweeps out of a long forgotten mountain pass with the coming of spring.  Soon, the fate of the barony rests on the quick thinking and action of Fortitude and his unit of raw reservists.

Who am I?  My name is Chris.  I live and work in Wellington, New Zealand.  Writing is something I do for fun whenever work and life permits.  I have a degree in European medieval and military history.
